THE SHOPPING BUNNY!

"Oh nuts, I need to get some more carrots for my little baby rabbit" sighed mother rabbit at breakfast time.  So out she went all the way to the shop.  She bought t-h-o-u-s-a-n-d-s of carrots.  It took almost forever.  At last she stopped and went to the counter.  It took a long time to scan all the carrots because it took 20 minutes!  It was a very long time.  Mother Rabbit whined a little but then "all done!"

MICKEY MOUSE'S POOL DAY!

"Look out!" said Mickey Mouse.
It was a toasting hot day at the pool.  Mickey the lifeguard was hot. He wanted to cool off.  He tried to open the pool gate but it was locked.

Mickey tried climbing over the gate but it was too slippery. He tried an axe but it was too strong.  He tried going sideways but it was too small.  He tried sliding under but the gap in the fence was too small.  He tried a key.  It worked.
"Cannonball!"  SPLASH!
Mickey was sinking.  He was too heavy.  Minnie looked outside but no one was outside .. but Mickey was.  Mickey swam up, he got his doughnut ring.  He sprinted into the pool.  He was relaxing.
"Oi!" said Minnie.  "Get out of there!"
"Jump in," said Mickey.
"OK, I will," said Minnie.
SPLASH!

MICKEY GOES SPLASH!

"Splash!" Said Mickey.
"I like the holidays," said Mickey Mouse.
"I want to relax in the water," said Mickey.
"I'm going home."

PUBLISHING STORIES!

Hi Mums and Dads and all our followers,

You may have noticed some of the children's writing appearing on the blog.  I thought it would be a great place for the children to share their amazing writing with a wider audience.  The children have a sign up sheet in the class, where they can put their name when they are ready to publish a story.  They will type up their story and send it directly to the blog.  The kids think it is pretty cool to see their writing online!  Please feel free to leave comments to the kids about how amazing their writing is.  Thanks for your support.

FIREFIGHTER FRIDAY

We were so excited on Friday as we had firefighters come to school and we were even lucky enough to have Cameron's Dad Chris come to our class.  He taught us lots of things about being fire wise and we even got to go and see the fire engines!

MUSICAL PATTERNS!

Today in Maths we played musical patterns. We had to make our own pattern using beans,  blocks or bears while music was playing.   When the music stopped we had to move to a friend's pattern and continue it.   We had a blast!  (We learnt lots too!)

PATTERN AND ALGEBRA FUN!

We absolutely loved Maths today!   We are learning about Pattern and Algebra.  Today we had to make repeating patterns with the teddy bears.   We talked about how many elements were in our pattern (eg red bear,  blue bear, red bear,  red bear is a 2 element repeating pattern).   Then we had to write down the rule for our pattern (eg red bear,  blue bear, red bear, blue bear would have the rule ABAB).  Mrs Lunn was truly impressed with how well we picked this concept up!   You might see us making patterns around the house for extra practise!

PLATINUM PRESS PASS HOLDERS!

Congratulations to Tatum,  Emma, Sam,  Julia, Allie,  Amelie and Alexis who have all been awarded Platinum Press Passes!   This represents the highest level of independence in our class.

These kids get to timetable their own day.   They choose from a range of must dos and can dos that Mrs Lunn sets for them.  They decide when they want to do each activity.   They have set times when they must be in a teaching session with Mrs Lunn or at a whole class activity but they other than that, they can choose what to do and when!  Exciting!

OHHHHH CUTE!

Look who came to visit!

Katie's mum Pip, brought in their new baby guinea pigs. They are only few days old and they are so cute!   We each got to have a little cuddle.   They made a little squeaking sound but seemed quite relaxed hanging out with us in LC 2 today.
