WHO CAN ... TEDDYSPANS!

·       Today we measured and ordered some of our classroom toys.  We used Teddyspans!  We had to make sure the teddy bears were holding hands when we measured the toys.

The puppet was 2 big teddies long.
·       Lambchop was 6 big teddies long.
·       The cash register was 4 big teddies long.
·       The telephone was 5 big teddies long.
·       Lambchop was the longest toy and the puppet was the shortest.
·       We put the toys in order from shortest to longest.
·       The order was: puppet, cash register, telephone and Lambchop.

MEASURING WITH HANDSPANS!

Today we measured different objects in the classroom using HANDSPANS.   We found out that the whiteboard table was about 30 handspans long! A handspan is from the tip of your thumb to the tip of your pinky when your hand is stretched out wide.   We love Maths!

WHO HAS GOT THE LONGEST FEET?

This week we are learning all about Length.   Today we drew around our shoe and measured the length of our footprint using blocks.   We found out Mrs Lunn had the biggest feet.   Her footprint was 13 blocks long.   Alexis,  Matty and Sam had the biggest feet of us kids and Leah had the smallest feet.
We loved measuring our feet today so much so,  that we might ask our family if we can measure their feet!
